How does geothermal generates electricity?

Geothermal generates electricity by being heated to cause the water ib the tank to turn into steam.

Is geothermal renewable or non-renewable?

Geothermal is a renewable source, the energy keep on coming as long we don't pump too much cold water down and cool down the rocks.

How does geothermal affect the environment?

Geothermal power plants do not burn fuel to generate electricity, so their emission levels are really low, they release less than 1% od carbon dioxide emission of fossil fuel plant. Geothermal plants use scrubber systems yo clean the air of hydrogen sulfide that is naturally found in steam and hot water from geothermal reserviour have been used, and then it gets injected back to earth.

Advantages

Geothermal energy does not produce greenhouse gases.

The energy source is free and will not run out.

Disadvantages

There are not many places we can build a geothermal power stations.

Harmful gases and minerals may occasionally come up from the ground below and these may be difficult to control
